Routines

Most students with Autism Spectrum Disorder find routine visuals comforting and calming. The following visuals are to support teachers in implementing routines.

Arriving at school 

The arriving at school (PPTX 89KB) support visuals can help make the process of arriving at school easier for students. 

Early childhood visuals 

The early childhood visual (DOCX 88KB) can help minimise stress and anxiety related to learning new skills or accessing new environments or information. 

Lunchtime and eating visuals 

The lunchtime (PPTX 103KB) can help students predict what will happen and what is expected of them.

While the eating visuals (DOCX 91KB) can help students to embrace eating in a new environment.  

Class visuals 

The class visuals (PPTX 358KB) can provide consistency necessary for learning.

Action words

The action words (DOCX 91KB)  can help teach expected behaviours necessary for group learning.

At school visual 

Visual supports are used to clarify communication and to supplement language in order to assist in the understanding of what is expected. The at school visual (DOCX 64KB) helps students to understand what will happen next.  

Work routine visuals

When a student is ready to begin work, the work (DOCX 21KB) and the work routine visual (DOCX 79KB) will help familiarise with them the routine. 

Timetable visuals
